Why Ocala?
Flint Creek Outfitters is located on SR 200 in Ocala, Florida in Marion County. For people who enjoy the outdoors, Marion County is full of places to go and things to do all year round. The county is famous for its huge oaks, festooned with Spanish moss and the towering sand pines of the Ocala National Forest. Flowers bloom in every season of the year, filling the landscape with color and the air with their fragrance. Nearly three-quarters of the Ocala National Forest is in Marion County. The Forest offers 383,573 acres of unique ecological sites, trails and natural springs. There are hundreds of camping sites throughout the forest offering everything from full-service campgrounds to more rustic sites. The National Forest also has designated trails for horseback riding.
The subtropical climate makes Marion County a vacation land year-round. Little wonder that residents spend as much time as possible outdoors. Opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming and other water sports abound in a region covered by hundreds of fresh-water springs, lakes and the Silver, Rainbow, Ocklawaha, and Withlacoochee Rivers. Fisherman will love Marion County as our area lakes such as Orange, Jumper, George, Lake Weir and the Withlacoochee River. Just outside of Ocklawaha on Lake Weir is the 560 acre Carney Island Park which offers hiking, biking, swimming, picnicking and canoeing.
